Medical Interpreter

Details: High school diploma or equivalent is required 1-2 years experience is required Job Description: Please note that this Per-Diem position is for all shifts/hrs and includes some nights, weekends and holidays. Duties: to provide face-to-face interpretation for our Portuguese and Spanish speaking patients, plus some telephonic interpreting as needed. Keep accurate data of patient's encounters. Excellent organizational skills, ability to set priorities, and problem solving skills. Requirements: Must Speak English, Portuguese and Spanish.  High school, undergraduate degree preferred. Minimum of 40 hrs training in medical interpreting with certificate.  Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a medical interpreter in a health care setting.

Interpreter

Details: Job Description: Interprets communication between patients and staff. May advocate for patients and informs staff and patients of relevant cultural issues. Must pass interpreting exam and have knowledge of clinical terms. Required Skills: Minimum of 40 hours of Medical Interpreter Training (certification required). Fluent in spoken and written English, Spanish and Portugese language.  Solid knowledge of medical terminology required.   Minimum for 1 year experience working as a medical interpreter in a health care setting preferred.  Office skills including Microsoft Word.  Translation skill a plus!
